Why More People are Switching to Firefox as Their Main Browser
With the advent of internet, internet users have been using internet explorer as the web browser. For years it has enjoyed dominance as a web browser. However since the year 2004 and the release of Mozilla Firefox 1.5, Internet Explorer is losing its market share very quickly, whereas the users for Firefox increase.
Why People are Opting for Firefox ?
There most certainly exist a number of reasons due to which Firefox is gaining popularity amongst the internet users of today. Some of which are discussed as follows. Many a times it is claimed that users choose a web browser in accordance to his/ her personal taste.
They choose keeping in mind the interface, whether they feel comfortable with the outlook of the browser and can find the buttons and the navigation comfortable or not. Firefox is said to be more secure than the IE as IE has huge security gaps which allows malware and also worms into the computer.
It is not only that Firefox provides complete protection, it in fact warns against all of the attempts to invade your computer. IE7 also uses ActiveX which is said to be more open to malfunctioning.
In addition to that there are many add-ons and plugins that are available in Firefox which enables the user to customize his browser in accordance to his needs and comfort. Many of the programmers also prefer Firefox over IE, this is due to the fact that while coding websites and designing them, Firefox facilitates a programmer more. The facility for detecting and debugging bugs in Firefox, Firebug is programmer’s haven.
This encourages many programmers to switch to the browser which would facilitate them more. This further on, encourages and intrigues general users as well to switch to Firefox.
Hence a number of reasons contribute for the switching of web browser, despite of the fact that IE had a very strong and firm hold on the market. It is because of the fact that Mozilla provides users with more comfort and convenience.
There navigation is easy and can be customized with the preference of the users. It is quicker to install and runs cleaner and is also less susceptible to spyware. A lot of these features mentioned and more make Firefox a more favourable and preferable choice.
